To all family members and visitors - I do hope you enjoy this site.

I have endeavoured to exclude living family members - should any have slipped through the net, please let me know, and I will remove them.

Genealogy is my hobby, and I have been researching my family since about 1990.

In the early days, it required regular visits to record offices, which I still haunt - however, the Internet also provides a great tool nowadays, from the comfort of one's own home!

If there is a particular name you are interested in viewing, the best option is to locate the individual via the Index - surnames are listed there alphabetically.

I have tried to include at least one photograph of each individual - if such a thing exists - it's always good to have a face to go with a name. If you find that there is a person on the site without a photo, and you have one, I would be very grateful if you could allow me to have a copy!

Similarly, as the photos on here cannot be viewed in larger size via the website, should you see any that you would like, do email me, and I would be happy to email a better copy.

I have tried to include souces for information that appears on here, and also to note the quality of the information, e.g. unreliable, questionable, primary, secondary source etc. Much of the research has been done by me, originally through speaking to relatives, researching in record offices etc, and of course a lot latterly on the Internet.

I am a member of the GenesReunited website also, and a version of my tree can be accessed there on request - although this one is much more comprehensive

Inevitably some has now been added concerning more remote family connections from research done by others that I have not been able to check for myself. I try to therefore credit them with the research, but, of course I cannot vouch for its accuracy.

I am sure there are some innaccuracies, assumptions and mistakes in my research (and that of others used on this site) - therefore I welcome any corrections, and crave forgiveness from anyone whose family I may have got all wrong!!!!
