Note on Husband: Edward William HOADLY (1) - shared note

Known as "Bill".

By the 1891 census, he is at 136 Plumstead Road, with his parents and step sister, Margaret.

[RG12/537/22].

Note on Husband: Edward William HOADLY (2)

Note by Graham Hoadly:

I only ever saw my Great Uncle Bill once. He was visiting my Grandpa (his brother) in Hornchurch and I happened to be around there at the time.

He seemed a jovial man - and as always with Grandpa, they reminisced.

I particularly remember them recalling an old Music Hall song. Grandpa began with:

"Do you remember this one?"

and proceeded to sing

" 'With a penny in his pocket ..."

At which Bill joined in, with happy recollection,

"'Lah-di-dahhhhh'"

Note on Wife: Daisy Mary PAYNE

Thank you so much for your e mail.

Daisy was my Great Aunt, my Grandfather Frederick George Payne's sister.

I remember her very well she was a lovely lady.

Her two sisters Mabel and Wyn lived on many years after Daisy died.

I cannot remember Daisy's husband.I only know when I was little our house seemed to be always full of relatives .

Grandma and Grandad lived next door and their other two children lived very close.17
