Note on Husband: Robert WILSON
It would seem that Joseph's son (Robert) left the small holding in Borrowdale to go to Keswick and become a pencil maker.
There were many in Keswick at the time. However as the century proceeded the jobbing pencil makers disappeared except for a number of big ones.
Roberts grew and was successful and eventually became the Cumberland pencil company.
