Note on Husband: William HOWARD (1) - shared note

In the 1881 census, William and his family lived at 61 Lugard Road, Peckham.

[RG11/0683/21/36]

"Interestingly, in Feb 1920 a requisition was made under the National Insurance Act 1911 for a copy of William's birth certificate.

This was the year he died, so I guess they were applying for sickness benefit or some such.

His death certificate implies that what my mother told me was right - that he had cancer of the scrotum. Poor old chap!"

Note on Husband: William HOWARD (2)

My Aunt thought that William had died after falling off roof at 61 Lugard

Road, he was a bit of a drinker. However this does not tally with your

details, so there is another mystery to be solved.

I assume you know that 61 later became 75 Lugard Road when some more houses were built. My Aunt also tells me that William built houses in Lugard Road?13
