In memory / of / JOHN STILL / who died Sept. / 22 1837 / aged 50 years / leaving a widow / and Three daughters. / Near this spot / also is interred / FRANCIS JOHN / son of the above / who died Decr. / 13th 1822 aged 11 months. / ELLEN JANE / their daughter / who died Feby. / 28th 1839 / aged 15 years / after a lingering / illness / borne / with exemplary / Patience / and Resignation. / In the midst of Life, we are in death.

PR: John Still buried 26 Sept. 1837 aged 50: Ellen Jane was buried at Stroud, Glos.,6 March 1839 . (Maidstone Journal, 12 March 1839): Space left for wife' s inscription was never used.
