Address: Lewisham Crematorium, Cremation at 10.30. Attended by Valerie Glen-Pearce (Joyce's cousin) and her daughters Ruth, and (?). Ruth's children Max and (?) and (?)'s children Alice and (?). Also Graham Hoadly and Sally Richards. Service presided over by lay preacher Liz Rhys-Jones. Music - Schubert Ave Maria, Verdi Requiem and Walting In The Clouds by Max Jaffa. Joyce's ashes to be scattered with those of her parents, Len and Elsie at Lewisham Crematorium. Len and Elsie were scattered at adjacent plots by the small lake. Joyce's ashes will be scattered in the shape of a cross on the boundary of the two plots. |

Joyce never married.

Joyce surffered very badly from crippling Rheumatoid arthritis2

In a telphone converstaion with Graham Hoadly, Joyce said that she and her parents lived at 19 Consort Road, Peckham.
They moved into FW Hoadly's premises at 198 Peckham High Street before WW2 because Len was under the impression that he would take over his father's bakery business.
After this the family moved to 26 McKerral Road and spent the Blitz there - seven months. They didn't have an Anderson Shelter.
They then stayed with Joyce's Grandparents (Jenner) at 1a Clifton Square. Later with her Aunt Dot (Dorothy nee Jenner) and Uncle Frank at 1 Clifton Square.
The family stayed at Clifton Square for twenty years. The properties were pulled down on a Town Planning order.
They moved to a prefab in 1963 at the top of Dog Kennel Hill, on the border of Camberwell and East Dulwich - SE5.
They lived there for three years.
In 1967 they moved to a maisonette at 186 Lewisham Road, where len and Elsie died.
Joyce moved to Merbury Close, then to a nursing home at Belmont for nine months and finally the Pear Tree Nursing home.

Joyce attended Lausanne House Private School in St Mary's Road.
