REVIEWS
" … particularly outstanding was 'Those Canaan Days', sung a la Francaise - with accents out of 'Allo 'Allo, crossed with Charles Aznavour! … "
Dundee Courier & Advertiser
" … best of them all was 'Those Canaan Days' featuring the eleven stooge-like brothers singing weeth ze French accents and some superb tango dancing …"
Alison Kerr:
GRAHAM'S REMINISCENCES
Well, I actually auditioned to play Jacob!
I saw the show at the Palladium the night before the audition and thought: "this would be good - Jacob spends the whole time in a rocking chair - no dancing - plenty of money - and Billing!"
Bless Nicola Treherne the Associate Director - she felt I was too young for Jacob, but asked would I be interested in playing Simeon!
I blenched having seen the amount of dancing involved - particularly the notorious Megamix finale!
So much for a rocking chair and Billing ... !
I ended up doing the show for two years, leaping around like a good 'un and crooning "Those Canaan days" in my best Aznavour / Piaf manner!
